A play by Bambi Everson

Get ready to laugh until your sides hurt with WRONG CALL, an uproarious full-length comedy by playwright Bambi Everson. In the spirit of Preston Sturges, this play is a head-on collision of anger, pain, and hilarity. A symphony of schadenfreude that will leave audiences in stitches.

In WRONG CALL, we meet Roger Edwards, a hapless and tightly wound individual who has just experienced a painful breakup with his girlfriend, Emily Maynard. Feeling alone and desperate, Roger makes a fateful decision to call an escort service, setting off a chain of wrong calls that leads to comedic chaos. As Roger attempts to cover up an embarrassing incident, his efforts only escalate the situation into a completely uncontrollable spiral when he’s mistaken for a criminal and becomes embroiled in a police investigation.

As the plot thickens, Roger’s friend Andy steps in to help him navigate the chaos. Amidst the confusion, a familiar face is offered a chance to go undercover for the police, adding another layer of complexity to the situation.

Every attempt he makes to demonstrate growth and resilience only backfires, getting him into even more trouble, an ever more desperate lose-lose situation. The worse things get for Roger, the funnier it is for the audience. WRONG CALL is a film noir in screwball comedy’s clothing. It will be published in paperback later this year.
